There are three registration methods. Which one you use affects what you can access later. This guide explains each method, what to have ready before you start, and what happens the moment registration is complete.
Whatever mobile number is linked to your Aadhaar or Jan Aadhaar is the one that receives the OTP. If that SIM is no longer active, you will not be able to complete registration through either of those methods. In that case, an Aadhaar-linked number update at an enrolment center would need to happen first.
One thing worth saying clearly: the username you type during registration is your permanent SSO ID. The portal gives no option to change it later. Pick something simple you will remember, like your first name combined with your birth year, and write it down somewhere physical before submitting.
If you registered via Google and later realise you need Aadhaar-verified access for scholarships or exams, you cannot upgrade the existing account. You would need to create a new account via Aadhaar and merge or replace the old one using the merge process in your SSO profile settings.
What you need before you register
Getting these ready before you open the portal saves the most time. The registration form has a timer on some OTP steps, so fumbling for documents mid-form can cause issues.
For Jan Aadhaar registration you need the 10-digit Jan Aadhaar family ID number (not a member sub-number) and access to the mobile number registered to the family head, because the OTP goes there. For Aadhaar registration you need your 12-digit Aadhaar card number and the mobile number currently linked to that Aadhaar (the OTP goes to that number only). For Google or Facebook registration you just need the account itself, no OTP or documents.
The three registration methods
Jan Aadhaar registration is best for families. Open sso.rajasthan.gov.in, click Registration, select Jan Aadhaar, enter your 10-digit family ID, verify the OTP sent to the family head's phone, select your name from the member list, choose a username, set a password, and click Register. Your SSO ID is confirmed on screen and sent to the registered mobile.
Aadhaar registration is best for individuals, especially students. Select Aadhaar, enter your 12-digit number, choose OTP delivery (mobile or email), enter the OTP within 10 minutes, check that the auto-filled name and date of birth match your Class 10 marksheet (not just your Aadhaar card, because exam portals go by marksheet details), choose a username, set a password, and click Register.
Google or Facebook registration is the fastest but limited. Click the Google or Facebook button, sign in, choose a username, and click Register. The limitation is real: accounts created this way cannot access SJE scholarships, RPSC exam applications, OTR registrations, PayManager, or any other service requiring Aadhaar verification. Students should not use this method.
What happens immediately after registration
Within seconds of a successful registration: your SSO ID appears on the confirmation screen, an SMS is sent to your registered mobile number with the SSO ID, and a confirmation email goes to your registered email address if you provided one. You can log in immediately. There is no activation wait, no email confirmation required before first login.
Your dashboard will be mostly empty at first. That is normal. Government service tiles appear as you use them or can be found through the search bar. The portal does not automatically load every available service the moment you register.
One thing to do right after registration: note your SSO ID from the confirmation screen and save it somewhere you will find in three years. The SMS helps, but people change phones, delete messages, and then spend 20 minutes on the Forgot Username flow because they never wrote it down.
